Jesus Christ is Visiting the Markets

The Lord Jesus Christ is currently visiting our economic markets across the world. This post has been written to share with you the purpose of His visit and how you should prepare yourself to receive Him. (November 2021)

Key Points
- The economic markets of the world belong to Jesus Christ. They were given to Him by inheritance from God. The mandate of Jesus Christ is to establish justice and righteousness in the markets. It is to deliver a glorious performance of the markets, based on the compliance of governments and businesses with God’s order, values, and strategies. This is the message of Hebrews 1:1-4 and Psalm 2:7-9.
- Jesus Christ is now visiting our markets to set right the things that are wrong. Our markets are plagued by degenerate human values that encourage materialism, inequality, and poverty. For this reason, the world suffers from significant levels of poverty and inequality. About 46% of the world’s population lives on less than $5.50 a day (World Bank). And the top 10% of wealthy people in the world control over 80% of global wealth (Credit Suisse). These behaviours have also undermined the economic performance of our markets (Psalm 144:11-15).
- The restoration of God’s order, values and strategies is required to rebuild the ruins of our markets. While not exhaustive, we outline here some of the principles that will be restored to the markets: (A) Order – (i) God is the owner of all businesses and we are just stewards (Psalm 24:1); (ii) God is our source and focus, not money/profit (Job 22:23-26); and (iii) Businesses must prioritise a positive impact on society (creating jobs, giving to the poor, etc.) over commercial profitability. (B) Values – graciousness, compassion and righteousness should replace lies, violence, and greed (Psalm 112:2-5; Titus 1:10-12). (C) Strategies – businesses should be built on God-given wisdom, understanding and knowledge (Proverbs 24:1-4).
- During His visit Jesus Christ will rectify the situation in our markets. He will do this in two (2) sequential stages: (a) He will teach businesses that are open to Him how to reconfigure their business, operating, and financial models, in line with God’s order, values and strategies. This will lead to improvements in their positive impact on society and the economy, as well as tangible increases in financial performance. (b) After this, He will set an exam for all the businesses of the world by stirring up a global economic crisis in which compliance with God’s order, values and strategies will be the only guarantee of survival. Only those who have prepared themselves and are managing their businesses as He expects will get to grow their businesses during the crisis. Others who do not comply will suffer business losses, in some cases leading to the loss of the business (Malachi 3:1-5; Revelation 3:20).
- However, Jesus loves businesses and does not want to see them suffer. Therefore, He makes plain His expectations on the pages of the Bible. Through the scriptures, He tells us how He expects things to be done in the markets. Overall, He expects the markets to provide for everyone. He expects those who have gathered much (the rich) to share with those who have gathered little (the poor and vulnerable). He expects that we abide by fair business practices and love our neighbours as ourselves. This is the message of 1 Timothy 6:17-19.
- To assist businesses across the world, we have attempted to summarise the teachings of the scriptures into a set of courses. These courses have been developed with businesses in mind. They explain the expectations of Jesus Christ using terminologies business leaders and their employees can connect with. These courses are available on adullamsolutions.com (click on the ‘Training’ tab). We enjoin you to take time out and study them. Ensure you make the necessary adjustments to your business practices.
The mercy and grace of God be with us all. Amen.

Hebrews 1:1-4 – God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (NKJV)
Psalm 2:7-9 – “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ” (NKJV)
Psalm 144:11-15 – Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood – that our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as pillars, sculptured in palace style; that our barns may be full, supplying all kinds of produce; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields; that our oxen may be well laden; that there be no breaking in or going out; that there be no outcry in our streets. Happy are the people who are in such a state; happy are the people whose God is the Lord! (NKJV)
Malachi 3:1-5 – “Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts. “But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.
“Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to the Lord, as in the days of old, as in former years. And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, and against those who turn away an alien – because they do not fear Me,” says the Lord of hosts. (NKJV)
Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (NKJV)
1 Timothy 6:17-19 – Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (NKJV)
