God is Taking Over the Markets

This post is written to give hope to those who are financially challenged today. It is for those who seem to have lost out in the marketplace, who feel left behind. It is for you who are not as smart as the innovative entrepreneurs we see in the social media celebrating series A, B and C rounds of financing in millions of dollars. This post lets you know that there is hope in God for you if you will upgrade your thoughts to God’s thoughts, and your ways to God’s ways.
This is an invitation to abundant life. The key to the change in your financial circumstances is this: “the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men” (Adullam Advisor, July 2021)

Key Points
- We live in a world full of economic development, growth and innovation. We enjoy the dividends of breakthrough knowledge in science and technology. And we are poised for more advances in healthcare, transportation, consumer products and services, etc. built on artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), big data analytics, to mention just a few. We celebrate leaders of this economic movement, both young and old, who are emerging daily. We celebrate them for their innovation and entrepreneurship, and their success in raising and making money. This post congratulates these entrepreneurs for their worthy achievements.
- However, the world is about to witness a new phenomenon. This emerging phenomenon can be summarised as follows: God is taking over the markets through generous business schemes. Now, there are three (3) types of business ideas/innovation. They are: (i) Bad ideas; (ii) Good ideas; and (iii) God ideas. The economic growth and innovations the world has hitherto witnessed has been built on God-given science and technology knowledge driven and commercialized by the ideas of men (good ideas). We are now about to see God-given breakthrough innovations driven and commercialized by the ideas of God.
- Jacob was the man who learnt the difference between the good business ideas of men and God’s generous business schemes (Genesis 29:1-18; Genesis 30:25-33). Jacob had left home to seek his fortune abroad because he needed to get away from Esau (his brother) who planned to kill him. He relocated to another country to work with his uncle. He hoped to amass wealth and raise a family. Jacob spent the first 14 years of his sojourn abroad depending on his skill as a master shepherd. He introduced innovative practices for watering the cattle to get the best from them (Genesis 29:7-10). He trusted in this skill to get him ahead in the market. Consequently, he struck a deal with his uncle for the hands of his daughters in marriage based on this skill. This was a good idea. At the end of 14 years, Jacob realized he was stuck in employment with no hope of building up wealth of his own. His good idea had failed him (Genesis 30:25-30). He prayed to God who sent an angel to give him a God idea – one that looked foolish to the average shepherd. This God idea also had to do with the way the animals were watered (Genesis 30:37-39). This time around, Jacob became very wealthy by following God’s ‘foolish’ idea. He learnt that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men (1 Corinthians 1:22-25)!
- God is by this post announcing to you that He is set to take over the market through His generous business schemes (Isaiah 32:8). He is looking for men and women, boys and girls whose hearts will be open to His ideas. Did God take over the market with Jacob? Yes, He did. This was the testimony of Jacob to his wives when God had made him wealthy: “So God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me” (Genesis 31:9).
- God gives His generous business schemes to the downtrodden in society (Genesis 31:11-12, Psalm 68:5-6, Psalm 145:14-16). If you are feeling left out of the market, having no productive asset to your name, and with no end in sight to working for others, this is for you. Start relating with God today by upgrading your perspectives about business to His (Isaiah 55:8-9). We have prepared training materials to help you along this journey. - As you upgrade your perspectives to God’s perspectives, I trust God to give you His ideas that command resources. You will then be generous with these resources to fund the good works of God in the earth (2 Corinthians 9:8)
The mercy and grace of God be with us all. Amen.

Genesis 29:7-10 – Then he (Jacob) said, “Look, it is still high day; it is not time for the cattle to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.” But they said, “We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together, and they have rolled the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.” Now while he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess. And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother. (NKJV)
Genesis 30:25-30 – And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, “send me away, that I may go to my own place and to my country. For what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you since my coming. And now, when shall I also provide for my own house?” (NKJV)
Genesis 30:37-39 – Now Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, peeled white strips in them, and exposed the white which was in the rods. And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flocks in the gutters, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink. So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted. (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 1:22-25 – For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
