Learning From Our Forbears – Life can be pretty tough, and many of us have had to make choices we are not proud of. The way we live is not something we can celebrate before God. We did what we did in order to get by in life. However, we respect God and would love the opportunity to be able to live as He wants us to.
God sees the tiny flicker in you that respects Him and His demand for living right. And He is not about to condemn you. Rather, He will take you step by step until He has fanned that flicker in you into embers of fire. This is part of what God said about Jesus Christ even before the Messiah was born.
Isaiah 42:1-4 – “Take a good look at my servant. I’m backing him to the hilt. He’s the one I chose, and I couldn’t be more pleased with him. I’ve bathed him with my Spirit, my life. He’ll set everything right among the nations. He won’t call attention to what he does with loud speeches or gaudy parades. He won’t brush aside the bruised and the hurt and he won’t disregard the small and insignificant, but he’ll steadily and firmly set things right. He won’t tire out and quit. He won’t be stopped until he’s finished his work—to set things right on earth. Far-flung ocean islands wait expectantly for his teaching.” (MSG)
The objective of this series is to identify with you and encourage you. Jesus Christ did not come to the world because we were perfectly righteous people. He came to save sinners. He came to save us. Jesus will take you from where you are and groom you to whom you really should be – a human being who is right with God and lives right.
