Righteousness that Endures Forever – Righteousness is simply doing what is right in each situation. It is obeying God in all that we think, say, or do. It is always complying with His instructions and commandments.
However, we all know as human beings that this is easier said than done. Doing what is right in some situations can be costly, while cutting corners can bring immediate benefits. Moreover, for those of us in the markets, we must grapple with the corrupting influence of wealth and riches on the human character. Lord Acton the English Catholic historian (1834 – 1902) captured this challenge brilliantly in his famous remark in a letter to an Anglican bishop: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men…”. The Lord Acton was accurate in his conclusion. It is indeed impossible for a human being to do what is right in every situation, and to continue to do so when he/she has become wealthy and successful in life.
While it is impossible for a human being to always do right, this is not the case for God Almighty. God has a righteous nature that is different from that of human beings. The scriptures teach us that God’s righteousness endures forever (Psalm 111:3). This simply means God does what is right in every situation and does not stop being righteous despite being an all-powerful personality whose riches cannot be quantified. God’s character cannot be corrupted (James 1:13).
The righteousness of God is on offer to all human beings. You will need this if you are going to be backed by God to become successful in the markets. You can develop a character that always does right, no matter the consequences. And you can remain righteous even if you become the richest person in the world. This is the conclusion of Psalm 112:3:
“Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.” (NKJV)
In this course, we will show you how to access and develop a righteous character that endures forever. It will not buckle under pressure or become degenerate when successful. It takes God to make a human being righteous. It is a gift He gives to believers in Jesus Christ. And it is only those in Christ that God trains to exercise this gift of righteousness in their everyday lives.
